What we’re about

Meet Kyle

Kyle Wyman is a Vermont native who lives in Castleton. Kyle graduated from Castleton University with a double Bachelors degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice.

Kyle is a father to a beautiful girl, a husband to his best friend, and a son to two loving parents. Wanting to seek a career that would better allow for more family time, Kyle established Heeling Hearts Canine in August of 2025. Determined to see whether a life spent training dogs, and their owners, would offer more balance and fulfillment out of life, Kyle stepped out of his comfort zone and hasn’t looked back.

Always a perfectionist, Kyle is his own biggest critic, so he decided to set out and formalize his training and submerge himself in everything dog! In April 2025, Kyle attended and graduated from the highly acclaimed Starmark Academy as a certified Canine Training and Behavior Specialist.

Our mIssion

To best serve individuals wanting to foster a healthy relationship with their dog, build or improve their obedience skills, and take steps to reduce and eliminate unwanted behaviors.

  • Creating Clarity of Expectations is a gift you owe to your dog

Develop and fine-tune your training through the use of properly timed and executed moments of reinforcement and punishment.

  • Change is Attainable

Off-leash recall, house manners, proper behavior in public, management or elimination of unwanted or unsafe behaviors (overarousal, resource guarding, leash reactivity, crate training, pulling on walks, jumping on people, damaging property)

  • At the core of HHC is the mission of opening up the world to dogs and their owners.

All too often, whether it be out of concern, embarrassment, or frustration, dog owners tend to not bring their misbehaved, reactive, unpredictable, leash-pulling, barking dog into public spaces. As a result, the dog’s world shrinks: walks become shorter, dogs are kept at home more often, and guests are discouraged from visiting.

  • The Only Way Out is Through

For a dog, being sheltered from the realities of life does nothing in the way of addressing their fears, belief systems, or over-the-top responses to such stimuli. We must train the dog where the problems arise.

  • HHC sets out to methodically, incrementally, help you to lead your dogs to face down their fears.

Through building leadership, trust, engagement, and bomb-proof obedience, both dog and handler can steadily re-integrate with the world and build positive experiences.

Approach

HHC’s approach is rooted in the understanding that voluntary learning, for people and for dogs, takes place through the receiving of consequences, both good and bad. Rewards and punishments.

  • HHC develops training protocols that are curtailed specifically for each dog, taking into account their breed, temperament, history, and drives, along with the client’s targeted objectives for training.

  • HHC’s training methods focus on creating clear and consistent feedback in response to the dog’s actions. Dogs thrive in structured environments that offer predictable outcomes for behavioral decisions. HHC trains the handler how to offer fair, timely, and meaningful responses

  • Calm energy from the handler. Dogs are incredibly perceptive to the emotional state of their owners. HHC strongly believes that a negative emotional state on the handler’s part will directly travel down the leash and negatively impact the dog’s response to its environment and training.

    • HHC works to reduce and eliminate any stress, nervousness, or resentment in the dog’s handler. Developing, instead, self-confidence and calmness to more assuredly lead your canine.

  • We build a clear understanding of obedience in low threshold environments. We apply a balanced training approach, often involving food/toy rewards and leash pressure, and then leverage obedience in order to allow the dog to experience novel/triggering stimuli in a controlled, systematic manner.

  • HHC’s ultimate goal is to make training FUN for both the dog and owner. A dog that’s engaged and enjoying itself is going to participate more fully and cooperatively in the training process.

Testimonials

Loved by Dogs, Trusted by Owners.

We can’t say enough good things about this camp. Our daughter went from being nervous about spending a week away from home to begging us to sign her up for the longer session next summer! She came home so much more confident, more independent, and totally in love with every sport she tried.

Rebecca M., Parent

Sending our child to sleepaway camp for the first time was a big step, but we knew right away they were in great hands. The coaches and staff created such a welcoming, safe space. Our son felt supported, included, and had an absolute blast every single day.

“This camp was exactly what our daughter needed. She came home more confident, independent, and excited to take on new challenges. It wasn’t just about sports—it was about believing in herself. We’re so thankful for the amazing role models she found there."
